Lesson Content
1. God Is the Eternal Creator
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1). From everlasting to everlasting, You are God (Psalm 90:2). God is not created. He is eternal and sovereign.
2. God Is Holy
Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts (Isaiah 6:3). When Isaiah saw God: Woe is me, for I am undone! (Isaiah 6:5). God's holiness exposes sin.
3. God Is Just and Merciful
The Lord God, merciful and gracious... yet by no means clearing the guilty (Exodus 34:6-7). God forgives. God judges. Both are true.
4. God Is Love
God is love (1 John 4:8). In this the love of God was manifested, that He sent His Son (1 John 4:9). God's love is not passive. It acts.
5. God Seeks a Relationship
This is eternal life, that they may know You (John 17:3). God does not remain distant. He calls you to know Him personally.
